Luxury Superyachts are the ultimate in luxury holidays - they are floating palaces offering six star luxury at sea. With no expense spared, they offer the ultimate of everything - optimum design, ultra high spec advanced engineering, and spacious lavishly appointed living areas on board.
Over the last decade or two, there has been a massive increase in the number and popularity of large private luxury yachts. Luxury yachts are particularly abundant in the Mediterranean and Caribbean seas, although demand is now growing for charter cruises in other, more remote and unspoiled regions of the world.
Normally classified as yachts that are more than 30 metres in length, superyachts offer the best of everything! Such as magnificent, spacious living and entertaining areas splendidly furnished and decorated; highly trained professional crew-members; state of the art machinery, navigation and internal systems; at-anchor stabilization and positioning systems; amenities including audio-visual satellite TVs, giant plasma screens; custom deck lighting; highspeed internet/WiFi, Ipod capability, a massive library of films and cinema rooms, well equipped gyms, world-class chefs who cook superbly to exact specifications; all possible water "toys" such as water skis, donuts, jet skis, snorkeling, fishing and scuba gear, wind surfers, as well as open top and covered “limo” tenders… the list is endless.
Interiors are often created by well-known designers, with suites and rooms for every need - magnificent dining rooms, VIP salons, offices, kids’ bedrooms (with Nanny's quarters, of course), glorious master suites, rooms for masseuses or additional staff. Exteriors offer separate decks for shade or sunbathing, hot tubbing or cool pools - some with “pool spa bar” integrated facilities; BBQs, chaise longues… Crew members often outnumber guests and offer unending, attentive hospitality. Some superyachts even have their own beauticians, masseuses and dive instructors in residence.
These magnificent vessels usually float in one of the world's many yachting paradises, whether one of the spectacular Caribbean Islands, the French or Italian Riviera, Sardinia, Greece, Spain or lesser known but equally enchanting areas of Asia, Indian Ocean, Australia and the South Pacific, South America or Africa. It is common for a superyacht to spend her summer basking in the Mediterranean, cruising to itineraries designed by her captain on behalf of the charterer, and then cross the Atlantic to the Caribbean (usually on a transporter such as the Dock Express), to meander between the glorious islands of St Barths, St Lucia, St Martin, Martinique and/or the Grenadines.
